The Fellowship

The No10 Innovation Fellowship Programme is 10 Downing Street’s flagship initiative for bringing world class technical talent into government for high impact tours of duty.
 
Our most recent cohort of Fellows collectively delivered tools in 48 hours that helped No10 and COBR mitigate crises in real time, were instrumental in the world’s first pre-deployment testing of a frontier AI model and brought their skills to bear delivering solutions and yielding insight in to issues of national importance.
 
If successful, your work will generally fall into some of the below categories and you can expect to work on many different projects over the course of your stint:

• Ensure the most important decisions are informed by the best possible evidence.

• Transform No10 and key areas of the government system through the applications of data science and AI. Making it smarter, faster more effective and efficient.

• Radically improve the quality of public facing services that people use every day.

• Identify and deliver projects that further our policy priorities from strengthening the NHS to making the streets safer and accelerating the delivery of new infrastructure and houses.

We are looking for individuals who combine technical brilliance with leadership skills and entrepreneurial drive.

What are we offering?

Typical salary range for a Fellow is between £85K – £200K or we can negotiate a fixed term secondment with your existing employer.

If successful, you’ll enjoy unparalleled opportunities to deliver the type of high impact technology and data projects that are only possible in government. You’ll be put to work on a PM and Government priority where we require your unique skill set; you will have access to senior decision makers; receive mentorship and guidance from the No10 Data Science team and help tackle challenges of national importance. You’ll have the opportunity to build a peer group of exceptionally talented colleagues.

We’re offering each Fellow a 6-12 month posting with the possibility of extending it; a dedicated recruitment and onboarding process; and bespoke in-programme support.

Fellows will work in small teams on projects that are technologically challenging, highly impactful and deliverable within a year.
